REEVES EVENT WITH MANCHESTER BLOGGERS

As some of you may know I was working up north for a lot of the summer months, so when Reeves invited me to their Manchester Show Your Colours event I jumped at the chance to get creative & meet some Manchester based bloggers. The event was hosted in the Foundation Coffee House, situated in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. I actually lived in the Northern Quarter for the two years I spent in Manchester so I know it pretty well and for me it’s the best part of the city. The architecture has a New York vibe (they’ve used various streets to portray Manhattan in films like Captain America) and it’s full of independent coffee shops, bars and shops.

One of the activities on offer was to decorate a succulent pot. Standard blogger behaviour really! The idea was switch off and get involved with the activity, so I tried to restricted the amount of Insta stories I uploaded and instead got chatting to Steph from Seeing Spots and Asma from Jet Set Chick who were lovely and full of tips of everything to see and do in Manchester.

Reeves supplied everything we needed, from brushes and pallets to water colour and acrylic paints.
I didn’t actually have a plan in mind for decorating my pot. I started by painting it white using acrylic paint and then went in with some dark blue and faded it as it went down. I’m pleased to say that this paint is fast drying – I had to catch a train back to London that I was booked on and didn’t expect it to dry in time! And to date, I’ve managed to keep it alive! It’s happily sitting on my kitchen window.

There were other activities to do, like watercolour postcards and flip books created by illustrator Elliot Kruszynski – check him out, his designs are SO COOL!

Being creative and physically making and creating things is so satisfying and I’m definitely going to try and up my game and bring you guys some DIY’s over the coming months. Reeves very kindly gifted me a box containing their paint sets and brushes so I’m looking forward to getting creative with them and sharing with you all what I come up with.
