MOTHER’S DAY IDEAS

Mother’s Day or Mothering Sunday is fast approaching guys, so I thought I’d share with you some of my tips for ideas of gifts & how to spend the special day!

First of all, I think the most important thing you can do for Mother’s Day is spend some time with your Mum! We all have busy lives and often it’s hard to set aside the time to do this, so make a special effort at this time of year to spend some quality time together. You could arrange a day out to a National Trust property,  (type in your postcode here for inspiration) take a walk together somewhere new or go for a meal at a favourite restaurant or cafe.

If you can’t make it home for whatever reason, a hand written card will go a long way. It’s always nice to get something through the post and taking the time to choose and write a card will be much appreciated. You could always make one too if you are feeling creative, or go online and create one using a favourite photograph, like this one here.

Flowers! You can’t go wrong with a bunch of flowers on Mother’s Day. At this time of year Tulips are a great option. I’d always try to choose a bunch at a local florist, or if you can’t make the journey, phone them up and ask them to hand tie a bunch rather than going with one of the bigger delivery firms. You’re going to get a nicer bouquet for your money and your Mum will appreciate it coming from a local shop.
If you don’t have a local florist, House of Fraser have these delivered for £27, or M&S are doing this larger bunch for £35.

Chocolates. Another cliche, but a good quality box of chocolates will always be enjoyed and appreciated. These ones from Rococo are amazing & the beautiful packaging means you don’t have to worry about gift wrapping them.

Other ideas are fragrances, bath products, a favourite tipple, theatre tickets or a spa vouchers. Personally I’d avoid any gifts that are in any way practical or involve a chore, so no cooking equipment or aprons – And anything with the word Mum written on it, is usually tat! Of course you will know your Mum better than me so these are just my suggestions. 🙂

Here are some other ideas of gifts / offers you can purchase online:

 – Theatre Tickets. Recently I went to see Matilda The Musical – and I highly recommend it. I think the heart warming story of Miss Honey becoming her Mum is also perfect for Mother’s Day!

Matilda the Musical Tickets Offer!

 – Molton Brown – great for bath gifts sets:

FREE 3-piece Travel Set when you spend £40*

 – Cath Kitson – great for nice homeware & bags:

Finally, if you are reading this and Mother’s Day has already past, and you have forgotten – shame on you! But this book might just be the perfect gift to smooth things over (maybe along with all of the above!) You’re welcome!

Whatever you end up doing, I hope you and your Mum’s have a lovely day together!
